For the past 30 years a gym, of some sort, has been at the core of my life. As a toddler it was hanging watching my dad prepare for bodybuilding competitions, as a teen it was getting up 3 hours before school and walking to the gym to get my workout in before classes. As an adult it was spending countless hours preparing for various physical positions in law enforcement. Fitness always has, and always will, be a huge part of my life. Beyond training I have spent years studying various training methodologies and applying their effect to see the results for myself.
I began experimenting with CrossFit in 2011 and joined a CrossFit gym in 2012. I fell in love with the challenging training method and unbelievable community amongst the athletes. I immersed myself in the training, studied everything I could about CrossFit and began to see results that have transitioned me into the best shape of my life.
On top of the countless hours spent in the gym, I’ve always had a passion for teaching which I have pursued for 20+ years. Over the years I’ve coached various sports, as well as trained fellow officers in several different aspects of law enforcement.
Combining my passion for training with my love of the CrossFit community, I qualified and received my Level 1 CrossFit Coaching Certificate. This, along with my years of experience and interpersonal coaching skills, has allowed me to immerse myself in the rewards of coaching beginner, intermediate and experienced athletes. Seeing their hard work and dedication turn into levels of fitness that are beyond their own expectations is extremely rewarding to me.
In 2015 I met the coaches of Sheepdog and felt an immediate connection. The atmosphere, strong community values and work ethic that they had developed in the gym was amazing. The coaches worked extremely hard were dedicating themselves to improving the athletes in the gym and ensuring that the community was strong. This was a place that I wanted to be a bigger part of.
I was lucky enough to have an opportunity to join Sheepdog’s ownership group in the spring of 2016 and I am proud to say that I am part of such an amazing group of coaches and athletes.
