Chris Burshtynski is a co-owner/coach at sheepdog Crossfit. Chris served 6 years in the military as an infantry soldier, paratrooper and reconnaissance patrolman with the 1st and 3rd battalions of Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. In 2009/2010 Chris deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan on combat operations with 1 PPCLI’s Recon platoon.
After releasing from the military in 2012 Chris worked as an armed security contractor protecting cargo ships traveling through dangerous waters off the coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea. He now works as a firefighter with the City of Vancouver.
Chris was first introduced to CrossFit in 2007 when Coach Glassman came to the 3rd Battalion to run a CrossFit seminar. Immediately hooked, Chris went out and got his Level 1 and Olympic lifting certifications and started coaching other battalion soldiers in his spare time. Realizing CrossFit was something he wanted to pursue more, Chris continued his coaching and has not looked back.
Once released from the military and back home in Canada, Chris started a CrossFit gym in his garage. Shortly thereafter, after meeting Sebastian and Rob, the three decided to branch out to a small warehouse and Sheepdog Crossfit was born.
